Munchkin Meals & What I Ate Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!!

It’s been a while since I shared some of the little dude’s meals, so today I thought I’d show you what my 17 month-old can eat in a day. Along with my eats. :)

I’m linking up with Jenn at Peas and Crayons for another What I Ate Wednesday. This month’s challenge is to vegify our meals and to share our favourite ways to cook and eat veggies. Two words: Green Smoothies!!!

Last Friday’s eats, starting with breakfast for two:

Plain bagel with butter, gruyere cheese, scrambled egg and apple for me and the little dude and small green juice.

Lunch was quick:

Falafel salad (made with frozen falafels, spinach, cukumber, homemade hummus and balsamic glaze) and huge green smoothie – or shoud I say Nutriblast? ;) –  for an early PM snack. Both shared with my son.

Toddler Snackin’:

Organic blueberries and strawberries, cheddar-apple mini muffin (I’m on a mini muffin baking kick lately) and iogo toddler yogurt.

Afternoon Tea:

Echinacea, to fight a cold.

And finally dinner for all:

Homemade Pizza! Well, semi-homemade. :) Whole Foods pizza dough, topped with tomato sauce, cheese and Genoa Salami. Side of berries for the little man, side of ceasar salad (unpictured) for the grown-ups.

I’m sure there were a few more snacks here and there, but these are the photos I took, and my mommy-brained memory can’t pinpoint to any other specific eats from that day.

In other news, my Valentines Treats Giveaway is still running until February 14th. Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win a $10 Starbucks gift card and 5 amazing Swedish Dubbel Nougat chocolate bars.

Peas and Crayons

Thanks for stopping by here and have a wonderful rest of the week!

That pizza looks SO good to me right now! And I’ve seen so many advertisments for that nutribullet lately. i wonder if its that different than the magic bullet…

Hi and thanks for stopping by! The Nutribullet was meant as a funny Christmas gift from my husband, because we watched too many informercials together, haha. From what I understand, the Nutribullet apparently has a stronger motor (600W), than the Magic Bullet. And even though I’d love a Vitamix or Blendtec, I’m happy with the NB. This morning it actually pulverized chia seeds in my smoothie, and that’s a huge step up from my old hand blender! :-p

I LOVE when moms do WIAW with their kids’ food too. I have no sense for how much kids eat. =)

I am so envious of your child’s eating habits.

It’s been so long since I’ve been able to get my child to eat a vegetable. If it weren’t for cereal and bread I think he might waste away.

I’ve tried many techniques to get him to eat a healthy diet, but his severe food aversions make it pretty much impossible.

Oh, there are a lot of things my son won’t eat. But in general, he likes food, which I’m very thankful for. Hope your little one will change his mind about fruit and veggies. It’s hard when you try and try and try but all they want is crackers (we have one of those days every now and then as well…). Thanks for stopping by here! :)
